Kim Falahati – Family Facilitator
Family is number one. Yet with our busy schedules, we don’t always have the time to make our family as much of a priority as we would like. When we go through a life altering transition, our priorities change, and unfortunately, time for our family is often compromised.
As your Family Facilitator, I’m here to assist so you have more time for yourself and have more time to spend with your loved ones. Think of me as an extension of your family, someone you can lean on to help with your day-to-day responsibilities and personal challenges.
Whether you need help with meals, household needs, moving/organizing or nanny placement, I am your resource for all your needs.
For more than 15 years, I have worked with families as a teacher, nanny, and house manager. In that time, I noticed one consistent request from the families: We wish we had more time to devote to our families and ourselves.
My desire to help others and help families spend more time together, along with my background in Psychology and Early Child Development, led me to develop the four pillars around my business: Meal Preparation and Delivery; Time Saver; Nanny Placement; Family Transition. Whether you take advantage of just one of these services or all of them, you will feel an incredible relief from not having to deal with the stress, hassles, and obligations that come with life.
Family Matters believes in offering affordable services that rejuvenate you so that you can become your best self and redirect your energy to what matters most-yourself and your family. My goal is to recreate a loving home so you feel less stressed and can enjoy quality time with your family.

Kathy Kane – Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS13083)
As a licensed psychotherapist, I have worked for more than
27 years with families in transition (divorce and remarriage).
Divorce is a life event that impacts the entire family socially and emotionally, as well as legally and financially. My interest is in supporting children and adults in coping and prospering through these very challenging times.
As a woman who has been on all sides of this (stepparent, divorcee/single parent, remarried), I have a personal interest in helping people navigate the process in ways that will promote long-term healing and keep Hope and Happiness alive.
In addition to my role as a psychotherapist, I am the Director of Clinical Services at the Discovery Counseling Center (DCC), a community based counseling center dedicated to serving the residents of the San Ramon Valley regardless of their financial status.
As the Clinical Director I oversee the counseling services and the many programs offered to this community. Among those services, DCC offers programs for Families in Transition, providing support for parents and children in the midst of these trying times. The Discovery Counseling Center is also a highly sought-after training institution for future mental health therapists who provide onsite counseling at every school in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, as well as individual, family, couples, and group counseling at the DCC clinic. A high percentage of our clients young and old are in families going through divorce.

David Mladinich – Home Mortgage Consultant (NMLS# 254102)
David has been a loan officer for 20+ years and during that time he has worked for the “big banks,” and for a small, family-owned mortgage brokerage. But David calls Mason-McDuffie Mortgage his home because it’s the best culture that he’s been a part of.
A truly “great” mortgage company means that operations, underwriting, and sales are all aligned and working together towards a common goal. Mason-McDuffie is the only company that David has ever worked with [in his entire career] where all three departments are world-class and all three are truly working together.
The team mentality at Mason-McDuffie where everyone is accountable, and everyone has a voice, is what sets this company apart. If you see a change that needs to be implemented to improve a system or a process – then speak up, and you will be heard. Mason-McDuffie is large enough to compete with those aforementioned “big banks,” but we’re small enough to make changes when necessary.
Everyone’s input matters and working at Mason-McDuffie means that you’re a part of something. Together, we’re improving the financial lives of our employees, our clients, and our business partners.
Thinking of refinancing or purchasing a home? I’ll help you understand your financing options so you can make informed decisions. And if you’re a builder or real estate agent, let’s connect and work together to help your clients secure financing to build or buy a home.
